Nimtype is a free typing trainer that helps you type faster and more accurately. Open the page and start typing — no download, no account, no friction. It is built for people who want to improve their words-per-minute with real, measurable feedback.
What you can do
- Typing test — measure your WPM and accuracy over 15 seconds up to 5 minutes. Pick words, sentences or a paragraph.
- Lessons — 41 structured lessons across 3 courses, each opening with a finger-placement diagram and three progressive drills to build muscle memory.
- Games — four arcade-style typing games (Falling Words, Keyboard Jump, Typing of the Dead, Boss Battle) that turn practice into play.
- Leaderboard — a global ranking of real scores. Sign in to post your best and see where you rank worldwide or by country.
- Streaks, XP & badges — daily check-ins earn XP and unlock achievement badges, so showing up every day actually feels good.
Why it's free and private
Nimtype stays free to use. We do not sell your data and we do not run advertising-tracking profiles. Analytics are anonymous and only collected if you agree. You can delete your account and all of its data at any time from the account menu.
How WPM works
WPM (words per minute) = (characters typed ÷ 5) ÷ minutes elapsed. Accuracy is the share of characters you typed correctly. These two numbers are the core of every Nimtype result.
